Rebecca Sadek founded Sadek Wellness in 2009 after receiving her training to practice holistic nutrition counseling at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and SUNY Purchase. Rebecca is also a Certified Holistic Health Counselor accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and holds a BA from Hamilton College in Hispanic Studies.
Rebecca’s journey towards health and wellness started five years ago: She felt out of shape, overweight, and suffered from chronic exhaustion. She wanted to get healthy, but had no clue where to turn. She began to realize that everyone you talk to will tell you try something different. “We live in a country full of people who are obsessed with dieting; we can’t walk out of our homes, turn on the tv, or listen to the radio without the latest diet trend being thrown in our face. How do we keep it all straight? Low carb, no carb, low fat, high fat, no sugar? What is it? The majority of people are always on a diet, about to start a diet, or doing some master cleanse to jump start a diet. If Americans are always dieting why are we so unhealthy?” These questions, coupled with years of trying different diets, prompted Rebecca to go back to school for nutrition and figure out the answer once and for all.
After years of struggling, Rebecca was finally able to find her own healthy balance through education and self exploration. She now works with women around the world to help them change the way that they feel about food and their bodies. She believes that “being healthy is not about isolation or restraint. It’s about finding balance in your life and what works for you individually”. Rebecca takes a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means she looks at how all areas of your life are connected. “Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.”
